Pakistan's ace fast-bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is all set for the World Cup 2023. With Naseem Shah ruled out of the World Cup, Shaheen will have added responsibility on his shoulders. The past couple of years have been impressive for the left-arm seamer as he has become the frontline bowler of the Pakistan team. He can break another record in this tournament.

The Men in Green are not having a good time in the 50-over format lately. They could not reach the final of the Asia Cup 2023, and now they have lost both of their warm-up games. For Pakistan to succeed in the World Cup, it becomes really important for Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf to pick some early wickets.

Afridi is likely to become fastest Pakistani to 100 ODI wickets

Shaheen Shah Afridi, the 23-year-old Pakistani left-arm seamer, has been leading the pace attack of the team for quite a while now. He has played around 44 ODI games and has taken 86 wickets with a thumping average of 23.4. With at least nine games in the World Cup for Pakistan, Shaheen has the possibility of becoming the fastest Pakistan bowler to reach 100 ODI wickets.

Currently, the record is held by Pakistan's veteran spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who completed his 100 ODI wickets in just 53 games. If Shaheen can pick up 14 wickets in his next eight games, he will become the fastest among the Pakistan bowlers to reach 100 ODI wickets.

The Pakistan team will be kick-starting their World Cup campaign with the game against the Netherlands on the 6th of October at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
