Pakistan's fast bowler Naseem Shah has successfully undergone surgery for his shoulder injury, which had prevented him from participating in the ICC World Cup 2023 in India, set to begin from October 5.

A video has emerged seemingly post his surgery where he can be heard saying, 'I miss you Mom' and 'I will make you proud.'

Naseem has previously talked about how the year 2019 was marked by an incredibly challenging and heart-wrenching start. Just a day before his highly anticipated debut for Pakistan, he was confronted with the devastating loss of his mother. He has always talked about how much he misses his mother and how close he was with her.  It's a testament to his resilience and the profound love and motivation that continue to drive him forward in the face of adversity.

On a brighter note though, an update on Naseem Shah's surgery was shared by his manager, Moghees Sheikh, on X. He mentioned that Naseem Shah is in good spirits after a minor shoulder procedure and requested everyone to keep him in their thoughts and prayers. He also mentioned that the pacer would be back in action soon.

Following the surgery, Naseem Shah has been advised to rest and undergo rehabilitation for four to six weeks before he can resume bowling. Unfortunately, due to this injury, Shah is expected to be sidelined for at least three to four months.

The injury occurred during Pakistan's second game against India in the Asia Cup 2023 last month, in the 46th over. On the reserve day for that match, Naseem Shah had to leave the field. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) subsequently announced that he would not be able to participate in the remainder of the tournament. It's important to note that this injury is unrelated to any previous shoulder issues Naseem Shah may have had.

In place of Naseem Shah, Hasan Ali, who last played an ODI match for Pakistan in 2022 against West Indies in Multan, has been included in Pakistan's World Cup squad.
