Having taken over from Andy Flower, Langer brings a wealth of coaching experience, having previously tasted success with Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. In a recent video uploaded by Lucknow Super Giants, Langer expressed his excitement about joining the IPL, stating,

Langer, known for his hard coaching approach, was forced to step down as the Australian head coach following a player revolt, despite leading the team to a T20 World Cup triumph and an Ashes victory over England. Since his departure, Australia has continued its success under Andrew McDonald, securing the World Test Championship 2023 and the ODI World Cup.

Reflecting on the IPL, Langer emphasized its global significance, likening it to the Olympic Games.

"IPL is big and is like the Olympic Games. Every game is a spectacle. It is followed by millions worldwide. I am excited about joining the tournament," he added, highlighting the immense popularity and fan following that the IPL commands on a global scale.

As the IPL 2024 season approaches, Justin Langer shared his excitement about the team's leadership, specifically praising KL Rahul. Langer remarked,

"When I was coaching Australia, against the match against India, I won't relax until Virat and Rahul get out - It is a blessing that KL is a leader in Lucknow because he is skilled at playing spin and fast."

Lucknow Super Giants made significant moves during the IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai, securing six players to bolster their squad. Pacer Shivam Mavi emerged as their most expensive acquisition at INR 6.4 crore, providing a potent option in the fast bowling department. Arshad Khan, another promising fast bowler from Madhya Pradesh, joined the squad for INR 20 lakh, contributing to the team's pace attack.

Adding depth to the spin bowling department is the INR 2.4 Crore purchase, Manimaran Siddharth. Additionally, the franchise added all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni at his base price of INR 20 lakh, further strengthening their squad with versatile talent.

Lucknow Super Giants made notable overseas signings, securing Australia's Ashton Turner for INR 1 Crore and England's David Wiley for INR 2 Crore. Wiley, part of the England squad that clinched the T20 World Cup in 2022, brings valuable experience and a winning mentality to the team.

As the IPL 2024 season approaches, all eyes will be on Justin Langer and the revamped Lucknow Super Giants squad
