Harbhajan Singh Shares Some Interesting Insights On Young Virat Kohli

In a recent podcast titled Find a Way with Taruwar Kohli, Harbhajan recalled a couple of significant instances that highlighted Virat Kohli's extraordinary attitude toward the game.

Harbhajan Singh pointed out one such series in which Virat Kohli made a significant impact and established himself was in India's tour of Sri Lanka.

He stated that in that particular series, Indian batters were struggling against the mystery spin of Ajantha Mendis, who was proving to be a formidable challenge.

However, Kohli, still relatively young in his career back then, approached the situation with remarkable confidence and fearlessness.

“I remember when he first came into the team. I think Viru (Sehwag) was injured, and the batters were all dismissed by (Ajantha) Mendis. Virat Kohli came in, a young guy full of free energy came in to bat, played Mendis and scored 54 in a One-Day game.“Kohli is a Dada player." Harbhajan Singh shared.

"If I tell you something about his Test cricket, at the very beginning. We were in West Indies. On that tour, Fidel Edwards (former West Indies quick) had troubled him a lot, getting him out either LBW or against the short ball. He was getting out time and again, so obviously was very disappointed. He had self-doubt, questionesd 'If I am good enough?' 'You will shame yourself if you don't score 10000 runs. You have the capability of scoring 10000 runs in Test cricket. And if you don't, it'll be because of your own fault'. Harbhajan Singh stated.

Bhajji revealed that the failures had shaken up Kohli's confidence, to the extent that the batter started second-guessing himself.

During his difficult time, he gave showed confidence in Kohli and mentioned that it would be an utter disappointment should he not score over 10,000 runs in the longest format.
