Mayanti Langer Gets Emotional After RCB's Maiden IPL Title Win
The players were emotional as well, and Virat Kohli broke down in tears even before the final ball was bowled. The last time RCB reached the final of IPL was in 2016 when it turned out to be a heartbreak for them. One of the members of that team was Stuart Binny, the husband of Mayanti Langer, the celebrated presenter of IPL.
Now, after the win, when Virat Kohli was taking trophy to all parts of the ground, Mayanti Langer expressed her desire to touch the trophy. She stated that her husband was part of the RCB team that lost the 2016 final and she being a Bengaluru girl, it is a special moment for her. She made a special request to Virat Kohli to let her touch the trophy as she is still finding it hard to believe that RCB have won the trophy.
"My husband played for RCB and lost the 2016 Final. I'm a Bengaluru girl, Virat Kohli let me touch the IPL trophy. I cannot believe it."
RCB Hold Nerves In Crunch Final Of IPL 2025
It was quite a roller-coaster of a final. Punjab Kings looked in a strong position at the halfway mark after restricting RCB to 190. However, PBKS batters crumbled under pressure and could not move the scoreboard as they would have ideally wanted with wickets also falling at regular intervals.
Thus, Punjab Kings were left to do a lot of cover-up in the final few overs and despite Shashank Singh hitting 61 from 30 balls, they lost the match by six runs.
