In a BCCI post-match video, Vaishnavi Sharma was asked about the origin of the viral celebration. The youngster opened up and shared how the idea came about earlier in the series but had to wait for the right moment.

“Before the third T20I, I thought of introducing a new celebration after taking a wicket. I asked Harry di [Harmanpreet Kaur] if I could do the hand gestures with her, and she agreed. I didn’t take any wickets in that game, but we finally celebrated in the fourth match after I got wickets,” Vaishnavi said.

Vaishnavi Sharma, a left-arm spinner from Madhya Pradesh, recently made her international debut for India in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. She impressed with her control and composure, finishing with five wickets across the five-match series as India sealed a dominant 5-0 victory.
