‘Utterly Classless...’ Sreesanth Lashes Out At Gambhir On Instagram After ‘Fixer’ Remark

An ugly verbal spat took place on Wednesday (December 6) between two of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning heroes, Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth. It happened when Gambhir’s India Capitals went up against Sreesanth-starred Gujarat Giants in Eliminator of the Legends League Cricket 2023 at Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat.

During the second over of the LLC match, Gambhir hit Sreesanth for a four and a six in back-to-back deliveries. As Gambhir hit the next ball to the fielder, Sreesanth spoke a few words to the former India opener. Then things got heated, and as claimed by Sreesanth, Gambhir even called him a ‘fixer.’

Those who forgot, Sreesanth was accused of IPL spot-fixing case in 2013, and was given a life time ban from cricket. However, the Supreme Court of India later set it aside, allowing him to play in domestic and franchise cricket.

While Sreesanth was vocal about what happened on the field, Gambhir just posted a photo on social media, captioning, 'Smile when the world is all about attention!' The fast bowler did not like it at all, and the comment which he made in Gambhir's social media post made a lot of headlines.

Sreesanth, while asking a number of questions to Gambhir, asked whether he is above the Supreme Court of India or not. In addition, he called Gambhir a 'utterly classless individual', and added that 'God won't forgive' for what he did.

Here's Sreesanth's comment on Gautam Gambhir's Post

"You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people. Yet, you continue to engage in conflicts with every cricketer. What is the matter with you? All I did was smile and observe, and you labeled me a fixer? Seriously? Are you above the Supreme Court? You have no authority to speak in such a manner and say whatever you please. You even verbally abused the umpires, and yet you speak of smiling? You are an arrogant and utterly classless individual who lacks any form of respect for those who supported you. Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family. However, you used the derogatory term 'fixer' not just once, but seven or eight times," Sreesanth blasted Gambhir.

"You even resorted to using the F-word towards the umpires and myself, persistently trying to provoke me. Anyone who has experienced what I have endured would never forgive you. Deep down, you know that what you said and did was wrong. I'm sure even God won't forgive you. You didn't even come to the field after that… Come on, God is watching everything."

Meanwhile, Gambhir, who scored 51 against Sreesanth's Gujarat, failed to make much impact on Thursday. In the Qualifier 2 against Manipal Tigers, he was run out after scoring a paltry 5-ball 10.
