‘Use And Throw Has Been..’ - Irfan Pathan Seemingly Takes A Shot at Hardik Pandya

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan seems to have hit out at current Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya amidst rumors of him leaving the franchise to rejoin the Mumbai Indians camp for the IPL 2024 season.

Back in late 2021, Pandya surprised all by ending his seven-year association with the Mumbai Indians to lead one of the two new entrants at the 2022 edition, the Gujarat Titans. The dynamic all-rounder led the Titans to IPL glory in his maiden captaincy stint and guided them to the finals the following year against CSK.

Seemingly settled at Titans, recent reports have indicated that Pandya will likely be re-joining the Mumbai Indians franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions in December next month.

Irfan Pathan Does A Cryptic Post

As it turned out, cricketer-turned-commentator Irfan Pathan is not too happy with Hardik Pandya’s decision to leave the Gujarat Titans camp for his older Mumbai-based franchise. On November 25, Pathan took to X (formerly Twitter) and expressed his frustrations with a sly dig at Pandya without naming the current Indian all-rounder. He wrote:

“Use and throw has been the real characteristic since the start…”

A final confirmation of Hardik Pandya’s IPL future will likely be finalized within the next few days, as BCCI officials are slated to announce the trade by the end of November.

Pandya is currently recovering from the ankle injury he sustained while playing for Team India at the 2023 World Cup. The cricketer played four matches for the team before he was ruled out of the rest of the tournament.
