'Unhone Nahi Bulaya': Kapil Dev Claims BCCI Didn't Invite Him For WC 2023 Final

The ICC invited all the World Cup-winning captains to attend the big final of the World Cup 2023. While there was news that all the captains would be present in the final, Kapil Dev who led the Indian team to win the 1983 World Cup was snapped at a show on the news channel and said that he was not invited. 

India are the host of the ongoing World Cup 2023, and BCCI have presented the golden tickets to several global icons like Sachin Tendulkar,  Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth. But the Indian captain who helped India lift the World Cup trophy for the first time in history was not invited to be a part of the World Cup 2023 final.

Unhone Nahi Bulaya: Kapil Dev's Statement

While the reports suggested that all the World Cup winning captains are invited to attend the World Cup 2023 final, Kapil Dev appears on a pre-match show on the Abp News channel. The reporter asked him about his presence at the Narendra Modi Stadium to attend the final, and the former Indian player said that he was not invited there.

“I wasn’t invited. Unhone nahi bulaya (They didn’t call me so I did not go). As simple as that. I wanted the whole 83 team to be there with me but I guess due to the fact that it’s such a big event and people are so busy handling responsibilities, sometimes they forget,” said Kapil.

Talking about the World Cup final, India were bundled out for 240, with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli scoring their respective fifties. At the moment, Australia have started the chase on an aggressive note, but have also lost 3 wickets.
