'Advantage India': Virender Sehwag Backs Rohit Sharma & Co. In Summit Clash

India has maintained in dominant run in the World Cup 2023 competition with 10 massive wins under their belt. The two-time champions have so far been at the top of their game and emerged as the sole team to remain unbeaten in the competition. Rohit Sharma-led India have fought fire with firesunk every formidable opposition that they faced including Australia.

With lethal form under their belt, India have every possible chance of clinching their third ODI World Cup title and at the same time burying the ghosts of the humiliating 2003 World Cup final loss once and for all.

Speaking about the blockbuster World Cup final being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Virender Sehwag issued a fiery statement. During his interaction with Cricbuzz, the swashbuckling Indian opener revealed that Australia will be a bit circumspect.

"India will surely have an advantage. Australia will be a little scared to face India in the final. To win the World Cup, the only team they wouldn't have wanted to face in the final is India. Also, I don't think that the pitch will make a big difference. It will be a tough contest and won't be a one-sided affair."

However, Sehwag also believes that the five-time champions are prepared to fight to the teeth and will leave no stone unturned to challenge a near-invincible Indian lineup. 

Taking about the ongoing fixture, the Men in Blue batted first on a two-paced track, where in-form batting line-up bundled out for 240 runs. However, Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian bowling made a game in the chase, removing three wickets inside the first eight overs.
