Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a sensational 25-run victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Match 30 of IPL 2024.

The match, held on Monday, saw SRH put up the highest-ever IPL score of 287/3, driven by standout performances from Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen.

Travis Head was the star of the show, blasting his way to an impressive 102, setting the stage for a colossal total. Following in his footsteps, Heinrich Klaasen contributed a fiery 67 runs off just 31 balls, which included two fours and seven sixes.

In the post-match presentation, Klaasen was modest about his explosive performance. He credited Head for setting a vigorous tempo that put the opposition's bowlers under siege.

Klaasen remarked that his approach was to bat sensibly, returning the strike to Head whenever possible and capitalizing on any loose deliveries that came his way.

“It was unbelievable start from Heady. A special knock and puts pressure on the bowlers. I just tried to play sensibly and give the strike back to him and if I have a couple of bad balls, I will go after that. But the tempo was set by him and it was good to see him do the funny things," said Klaasen.

Heinrich Klaasen also shared insights into his preparation, noting that a recent practice session had been vital in refining his swing. He identified a lateral movement issue in his batting technique, which he addressed just in time for the match.

"I had a good session a couple of days back. Worked on my swing. I thought I was moving a bit sideways while hitting. So, just worked on it. Just fine tuning it," added the stumper.

Concluding his remarks, Klaasen expressed a mix of fortune and strategy behind their success. Acknowledging the quality of the pitch, he highlighted the importance of their execution during crucial phases of the game, which ultimately paved the way for their victory.

"We have been lucky. I think a couple of games ago. We knew it was a good wicket. But we just had to execute five overs. They batted well but good to finish on the winning side," concluded Klaasen.

This win places Sunrisers Hyderabad in a strong position in the tournament. They are on the fourth spot in the points table with four wins and two losses from six games.
