In an electrifying match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the latter emerged victorious with a stunning display of power hitting.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis chose to bowl first after winning the toss, but SRH's batter unleashed a relentless onslaught, surpassing the 277/3 score they set earlier in the season against Mumbai Indians and closing their innings with a record score of 287 in IPL history.

The SRH innings witnessed a record-breaking 21 sixes, the highest in an IPL inning, with the 500th six of IPL 2024 being smashed in just the 30th game of the season.

Heinrich Klaasen achieved this milestone with a remarkable shot off Mahipal Lomror in the 14th over. With the ball pitched full and in the slot, Klaasen effortlessly powered the ball over long-on, describing it as "easy peasy." 

His explosive knock of 67 runs off 31 balls contributed significantly to SRH's formidable total.

Klaasen's six not only marked a historic moment in IPL 2024 but also showcased his exceptional batting prowess. Despite his eventual dismissal, Abdul Samad's late fireworks ensured SRH set an imposing target for RCB.

The Sunrisers scored the highest total ever made in the IPL, giving the Bengaluru-based side a target of 288 runs.
