USA cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has been provisionally suspended for breaching the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) anti-corruption code on three counts in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025. He represents the UP Nawabs in the tournament. The suspension came into effect immediately and prohibits him from participating in any cricketing activities.

The charges were filed on the 21st of November, and Akhilesh Reddy now has 14 days to respond to these allegations. The ICC has confirmed that it is working on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board for this case.

The charges accuse Reddy of attempting to fix or influence a match, encouraging another person to participate in fixing, and obstructing or delaying an investigation by deleting data or messages from his phone.

"The International Cricket Council (ICC), on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), has charged USA player Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy for breaching three counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The charges relate to the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 2025 in the United Arab Emirates. The ICC was appointed by the ECB as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO) for this tournament and, as such, is issuing these charges on the ECB’s behalf,” read the ICC’s statement.

The ban imposed by the ICC is only provisional

The breaches fall under Article 2.1.1 (attempting to fix), Article 2.1.4 (soliciting fixing), and Article 2.4.7 (obstruction of investigation). These articles are governed by the ICC’s anti-corruption code, which is designed to uphold the integrity of the sport.

The ban imposed by the ICC is only provisional and not permanent, which means that the USA cricketer has not been proven guilty yet. The proceedings are currently underway, and no more specific details have been made public yet. The matches in question and any other player’s involvement are not confirmed.
