Harbhajan Singh for Abu Dhabi - (Source: @Johns/X.com)
The ninth edition of Abu Dhabi T10 league is underway, and recently Harbhajan Singh, who is leading Aspin Stallions, hogged the internet after he was caught shaking hands with Pakistan cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani, during his side's match against Northern Warriors.
In the recently concluded match, the Singh-led side lost by four runs and Singh, who was on strike, failed to seal the game for his side. Furthermore, Harbhajan was seen shaking hands with Dahani during the post-match ritual, who made his debut for Pakistan in 2022.
Why is this concerning?
Notably, India and Pakistan have strained relations and were on the verge of a war a few months back. Pakistan attacked Kashmir, which resulted in 26 civilians being killed, leading to the Indian government boycotting and isolating the neighbouring country.
Furthermore, a decision was made to ban Pakistani movies and refrain from playing them in sports. Meanwhile, the first strict action against the Men in Green was seen during the World Championship of Legends when India legends boycotted their match against Pakistan.
Harbhajan has been pretty vocal about his stance to boycott Pakistan and had also slammed the BCCI for allowing the Men in Blue to play Asia Cup 2025 matches against Pakistan.
India's no handshake-policy in Asia Cup 2025
However, Singh's latest actions have left everyone shocked and stunned as the fans are actually calling out his hypocrisy. The former Indian spinner has failed to stick to his original stand and is now at the helm of heavy criticism for violating the no-handshake policy.
Notably, for the unversed, during the Asia Cup 2025, India met Pakistan thrice and didn't shake hands even in a single game. A tradition that was continued in the Women's World Cup 2025 as well.
