'Tried For 15 Years to Stop That...': Aaron Finch Opens up on Being Troubled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvi has troubled Finch in limited-overs cricket [Twitter]
Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was once one of the key bowlers in the Indian Cricket Team, has not got much opportunities over the last couple of years due to persistent injuries. When at the peak of his career, the bowler troubled the best of batters, including Australia's Aaron Finch.
In international cricket, Kumar dismissed Finch seven times, including four times in one-day internationals (ODIs). Interestingly, all four dismissals came consecutively during a series in 2019.
During a Q&A session on 'X', formerly known as Twitter, Finch was questioned about his difficulties against the out of favour Indian pacer.
“Big fan here, why did Bhuvi troubled you a bit.. Could you elaborate? Is it your feet coming across??” a fan asked Finch on the microblogging platform.
“Yep!! Tried for 15 years to stop that happening," Finch replied.
Finch retired from international career earlier this year, after announcing his ODI retirement back in 2022. More recently, Finch played in the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket, captaining the San Francisco Unicorns. However, his performance with the bat was disappointing, as he scored only 68 runs in five matches.
Kumar, on the other hand, last played for India in a T20I against New Zealand in November 2022. However, he is a regular in the IPL, where he represents Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the absence of regular captain Aiden Markram, Kumar also led SRH in a few games this year.
