Bhuvneshwar Kumar, one of India's most potent swing bowlers, may retire from cricket soon. Kumar, 33, recently changed his social media platform Instagram bio, which earlier had 'Indian Cricketer' in it.

Now, Kumar's bio only says 'Indian, Family First. Pet Lover. Casual Gamer', which has sparked rumours about the UP-born planning to hang up his boots.

Injuries and lack of form has kept Kumar out of Team India contention for a while, having last played an ODI back in January 2022.

As per TheCricketLounge, Kumar, who is in rehab in NCA will announce his retirement from cricket after India tours Ireland.

Kumar was also not included in BCCI's list of centrally contracted players this year and is unlikely to be part of India's Cricket World Cup 2023 plans going forward.

Since 2012, Kumar has played 87 T20Is, 121 ODIs, and 21 Tests for India, accumulating 294 wickets in the process along with seven five-wicket hauls across formats.

Interestingly, Kumar is the second-highest wicket-taker for India in T20Is (90), behind Yuzvendra Chahal (91).

The Meerut-born has also featured in the Indian Premier League for franchises such as Pune Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, having made his tournament debut in 2011.
