MI Emirates batter Ambati Rayudu reflected on the Mumbai Indians (MI) philosophy, emphasizing the ingrained winning mentality within the team. According to Rayudu, every player in the MI team carried a strong desire to contribute to the team's success, whether with the bat, on the field, or through impactful catches and run-outs. This collective mindset was referred to as the 'MI Attitude,' characterized by a relentless commitment from every team member.

Before concluding his IPL journey with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rayudu was associated with the Mumbai Indians (MI) until 2017. Rayudu's IPL career began in 2010 with Mumbai-based team and enjoyed success with the team, winning titles in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

Throughout his IPL career spanning 204 games, the right-handed batter amassed 4,348 runs at an average of 28.23, featuring one century and 22 half-centuries, with a strike rate of 127.54.

Despite facing a challenging phase in his farewell IPL season, scoring only 158 runs in 16 games, Rayudu played a crucial role in the final, contributing a quickfire knock that brought the team closer to victory. The 2023 IPL final marked his last appearance in the tournament.

Rayudu expressed that the team's shared goal was to win, and the players were dedicated to giving their all in pursuit of victory. The phrase "MI Attitude" encapsulated the spirit of the team, where each individual was determined to make a meaningful contribution.

Rayudu highlighted the significance of such an attitude, mentioning that it was a crucial element in the team's success.

“The MI philosophy was built into the team, in terms of the winning mentality that everyone carries. We all always wanted to win and contribute at some level. If not with the bat, on the field, with one catch, one run-out, that sort of an attitude was there in everyone. We used to call it the ‘MI Attitude’, where everybody was giving it their all. Eventually you dream and you live for a moment like this, hitting a last ball six. This is something I would take to my dying bed,” said Ambati Rayudu in an exclusive interview with Mumbai Indians.

Post-retirement from IPL, Rayudu remains active in various franchise leagues. He has participated in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Major League Cricket (MLC), and is currently engaged in the International League T20 (ILT20 2024), representing MI Emirates, a sister franchise of the Mumbai Indians.
