Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has given an update on his teammate Haris Rauf, who faced an injury scare while completing Hasan Ali's catch in the tenth game of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine against Karachi Kings.

During the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings in the ongoing PSL 2024, Haris Rauf suffered an injury scare after taking a catch. He came from the long-off boundary and injured himself while tumbling to the ground.

Initially, it seemed like the catch was not cleanly taken, but the third umpire ruled it out. The visuals after the catch have raised concerns among fans of the Pakistan cricket team, especially with the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled for June this year.

Rauf had an elastic bandage around his right hand shoulder and had to leave the field after the incident. Shaheen mentioned after the game that the fast bowler was indeed injured during the match. He also stated that he's unaware of the severity of the injury.

"Haris Rauf is injured; he bowled really well today, and I hope he recovers soon. I don't know the extent of his injury, but we're praying for him," said Shaheen after the game.

Meanwhile, the Shan Masood-led Karachi Kings clinched a thrilling two-wicket victory against Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

They successfully chased down the target of 176 runs on the final ball of the last over, handing Qalandars their fourth consecutive defeat of the season. The match swung like a oscillating pendulum, with the winner being unpredictable at any point.

After the game, Haris Rauf underwent a shoulder scan and is currently being assessed. The Lahore Qalandars medical team is closely monitoring his condition, and further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.

While the extent of Rauf’s injury is yet to be determined, fans are reminded of Naseem Shah's injury before the 2023 World Cup, which caused him to miss the event, adding to their worries.

As the new T20I skipper, Shaheen would love to have Haris fit for the T20 World Cup and the ongoing PSL season, as the defending champions are struggling with zero wins so far in the tournament and Haris is one of their key bowlers.
