On Wednesday, July 23, India will lock horns against England in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester. Ahead of the crucial Test, England vice-captain Harry Brook spoke to the press, where he shed light on England docking WTC points and things getting aggressive at the Lord's.

Brook remarked that England always abide by the spirit of cricket, but remarked that an over from Jasprit Bumrah, where he targeted Shoaib Bashir, changed things. The vice-captain added that the Three Lions decided to take on India and unveil their aggressive side.

"We try to play in the spirit of the game as much as possible. We saw that single over from Bumrah and he struck him on the shoulder. That is when we decided to reassess the situation and have a go at India. It’s been a bit of fun. We saw it at Lord’s 11 (India) vs 2 (England),” remarked Brook during the press conference as quoted by Rahul Rawat of India Today.

What Happened At Lord's?

Notably, things got heated at Lord's after both teams got aggressive on the field. Firstly, England's openers' tactics to waste time irked team India, which led to a massive fight. However, Ben Stokes and his men perceived it to be 11 men taking on two English cricketers, which didn't go well with them.

On Day 5 of the third Test, England cricketers were full of fire and didn't hold back from sledging the batters, including captain Ben Stokes, who was breathing fire with the ball and also engaging in heated chats with the India batters.

"There was always going to be a moment in a series like this when it was going to implode. It wasn't really boiling over to it; it just sort of happened. But look, that's the spectacle of England v India, isn't it?" Stokes remarked after the Lord's Test win.

It was one of the most heated games in recent times where both sets of players were charged up and didn't shy away from locking horns in a verbal battle.
