Jasprit Bumrah delivered yet another masterclass with the ball as he struck another five-wicket haul in the ongoing First Test between England and India at Headingley. However, it could have been far more spectacular if not for a series of dropped catches and a no-ball blunder.

Bumrah had Harry Brook caught off a brilliant delivery late on Day 2 only to be denied as replays confirmed he had overstepped. Adding to his frustration, several chances off his bowling were dropped by fielders throughout the innings, making his fifer an even more hard-earned effort.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar could not help but bring some comic relief to the situation after England finished with 465 in their first innings. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tendulkar humorously remarked that Bumrah could have grabbed a 9-wicket haul but Indian fielders and that no-ball had other plans.

“Congratulations Bumrah! A no-ball and 3 missed chances stood between you and 𝙣𝙖𝙪 wickets,” Tendulkar tweeted.

The tweet instantly went viral, with fans praising not just Bumrah’s unrelenting intensity, but also Sachin’s witty take. Tendulkar’s light-hearted jab was very much relatable to all the viewers who had watched Bumrah toil endlessly on what looks like a lifeless surface in the Headingley Test so far.

Bumrah Survives Chaos, Stands Tall vs England

Despite the missed opportunities, Bumrah's series of fiery spells broke England’s batting backbone, showcasing why he remains India's go-to bowler in crunch situations. Without Bumrah, situation could have gone to worse for Shubman Gill and his side.
