Australian superstar, Steve Smith has stated that he would love to be a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, and will be putting his name for the auctions.

Smith, who last featured in IPL 2021, has had a mixed T20 career, but his latest resurgence has once again rang the door bells for a successful IPL stint. The former Aussie skipper, led Washington Freedom to their maiden MLC title in 2024, and was their leading run-getter as well.

He slammed 336 runs, at a strike-rate of 148.67, and was the third highest run-scorer in the tournament. Moreover, he also played a match-winning knock in the finals to secure the title for his side.

Despite missing out on playing in IPL for two years, Smith is still eager to play a big role, and wants to take a chance once again.

"I'd love to be part of the IPL once again. I'll be putting my name in the auction," he said to CODE Sports.

The right-handed batter started his IPL journey in 2012, and last featured for the Delhi Capitals side under the leadership of Rishabh Pant. However, he is best known for his time with the Rajasthan Royals, where he made a name for himself.
