On May 18, Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 runs in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Following the great win, PBKS star pacer Arshdeep Singh took to Instagram and lightened the mood with a cheeky post featuring RR's Yashasvi Jaiswal. In a short video, he jokingly said,
“Bohot maara be, dhaaga hi khol diya” (You really smashed me hard). Laughing, Jaiswal responded, “Ekdum, maine bola tha isko, mai maarunga ek din” (Absolutely, I told him I’d hit him one day).
Arshdeep also humorously referenced Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Rizwan’s famous line: “Sometimes win, sometimes learn & win"

PBKS chose to bat first but faced early setbacks, losing openers Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh and Australia batter Mitchell Owen cheaply.
However, Nehal Wadhera stepped up, scoring 70 off 37 balls, while Shashank Singh made an unbeaten 59 off 30 balls. Their efforts, along with some late hits from Azmatullah, helped Punjab reach 219/5 in 20 overs.
RR began their chase with a bang. Jaiswal scored 50 off 25 balls, while 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi impressed with a quickfire 40 off 15 balls. However, PBKS spinner Harpreet Brar took three crucial wickets, including Jaiswal and Suryavanshi, slowing down the chase. Despite Dhruv Jurel’s fighting 53 off 31 balls, RR fell short by 10 runs.
Meanwhile, Arshdeep had a tough day on the field. Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered him for 22 runs in his very first over, hitting four boundaries and a six. Arshdeep eventually conceded 60 runs in his four overs without taking a wicket, making it one of his most expensive spells.
After being hit all over the park in his first three overs, Arshdeep made a strong comeback in the final over when Rajasthan needed 30 runs from 12 balls. He gave away just eight runs, securing the win for PBKS.
With this victory, PBKS secured their eighth win of the season and booked a spot in the IPL playoffs for the first time in 11 years under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer.
