Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for South African pacer Lungisani Ngidi on Monday. Ngidi will be leaving to join South Africa’s squad for the World Test Championship final against Australia, which will be held at Lord’s starting June 11, 2025.
Muzarabani’s inclusion in the RCB squad will be effective from May 26, 2025. It is worth noting that he went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, which took place in Jeddah.

Blessing Muzarabani has now become the fifth Zimbabwe player to be part of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The first Zimbabwean to make it to the IPL was Tatenda Taibu, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the inaugural season in 2008.
Following Taibu, Ray Price got an opportunity to play in the league when he was picked by Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2011. Another notable player from Zimbabwe, Brendan Taylor, was selected by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2014, but unfortunately, he never got to play a match.
More recently, in 2024, Sikandar Raza represented Punjab Kings (PBKS), where he played two matches.
Who Is Blessing Muzarabani?
Blessing Muzarabani is a 28-year-old Zimbabwe pacer with significant international experience. So far, he has played 70 T20 International (T20I) matches and has taken 78 wickets. Besides T20Is, he has also represented Zimbabwe in 12 Test matches and 55 One Day Internationals (ODIs).
Notably, Muzarabani brings valuable bowling strength to the RCB squad. He will be joining the team for a contract worth INR 75 lakh.
