After a heartbreaking defeat in the Kolkata Test, Team India moved on to the next match with hope, but only setbacks followed their way. After South Africa mounted a massive total while batting first, India faced another bizarre batting collapse.

Karun Nair finally earned a lifeline in England, only to be sidelined again as Sai Sudharsan was picked at No. 3. After the batter failed and India collapsed, the Karnataka batter shared a cryptic post.

Despite being a triple-century scorer for India, Karun Nair was absent from he squad for eight long years before getting the most-awaited call-up for the England series. As the team expected some classic knocks from the Karnataka batter, he registered only one half-century. After the series, he was dropped from the home Test series against West Indies and South Africa.

While Ajit Agarkar was asked about Nair’s exclusion, the chief selector replied that they expected more from him. As Team India moved on with Sai Sudharsan for the number three position, Karun Nair dazzled in the domestic circuit. But after playing an 87-run innings against the West Indies, Sudharsan is struggling with the bat.

After a forgettable outing in the Kolkata Test, Team India hoped for a big turnaround in the second innings, but that proved to be another nightmare for them. While batting first, the Protea batters swung their bats on high as Indian bowlers struggled hard to restrict them to a low total.

After piling up a mammoth 489, South Africa watched India start well, until a shocking collapse saw five wickets tumble for just 27 runs. Trailing way behind, Team India is fighting hard to escape the follow-on with three wickets left in hand.
