'Shivam Dube Is A Real...,'  Former Indian Opener On India's Squad For T20 World Cup 2024

In a recent analysis of India's potential squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, former Indian opener & renowned Cricket commentator, Aakash Chopra has advocated for the inclusion of both Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya. 

Hardik, who missed the T20I series against Afghanistan due to an ankle injury sustained during the ICC World Cup 2023 clash against Bangladesh in the previous year, is expected to return to action in the IPL 2024 for Mumbai Indians.

Shivam Dube, on the other hand, has grabbed headlines with his stellar performance in the recently concluded T20I series against Afghanistan. With 124 runs, he emerged as the top run-scorer across both sides and showcased his ability as a seam-bowling all-rounder by picking up two wickets, albeit at an economy rate of 10.00. Chopra compared Dube to the legendary Yuvraj Singh, emphasizing his attacking style and powerful hitting.

Chopra, in a video shared on his YouTube channel, expressed his opinion on the matter, stating,

 "Shivam Dube is a real contender based on these three matches. It would be the cherry on top if he performs well in the IPL."

 He implored the T20 World Cup selectors to retain both Dube and Hardik in the team, emphasizing the importance of power in the shortest format, especially on spinner-friendly pitches expected in the Caribbean and the United States.

Highlighting Dube's attacking mindset, Chopra suggested, 

"Shivam Ati Sundaram - his power is talking loudly. As an attacker rather than a grafter, you could have sent Rinku Singh or Sanju Samson ahead of him. He reminds me of Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh). Thus, you should keep him a little lower on the list."

As the T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to commence on June 2 in the United States and the West Indies, cricket fans are eagerly anticipating the final squad announcement
