Mohammad Amir, who has been having a successful run in franchise cricket this year, served his first stint for the Quetta Qavalry side in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league as skipper and delivered with the ball too.
The captain led by example and bagged a four-fer, which powered his team to a nine-wicket win over UAE Bulls in the 14th match of the league on November 22. Cherishing his return to the side as captain, Mohammad Amir was exhilarated with his own work as he recalled his most memorable spell of his life.
Amir lauds Liam Livingstone's captaincy
Quetta Qavalry, led by Mohammad Amir, chased down the 110-run target given by UAE Bulls in just 8.2 overs, losing only one wicket in the process.
Speaking after the win, Amir was elated with his stint as captain while lauding Liam Livingstone, who led the team in the first three opening matches, which resulted in straight victories.
"Main Liam se baat kar raha tha ki tumne mujh par thoda pressure daal diya hai, kyunki tumne 3 mein se 3 matches jeete hain, aur ab mujhe is momentum ko as a captain, aage badhana hoga. Liam ne sach mein accha kaam kiya" (I was talking to Liam that he has put some pressure on me because he won 3 out of 3 matches, and now I have to continue that momentum as captain. Liam did a really good job, to be honest.)," Amir told after the match.
Amir terms Champions Trophy 2017 spell as most memorable
When the host asked which was Amir's most favourite and most memorable spell of his life, Amir was quick to respond that the Champions Trophy spell was his favourite one.
"Champion Trophy ka spell mere liye sabse zyada memorable hai and, uss spell ko bhi log yaad karte hai aur wo mere liye boht special hai" (The Champions Trophy spell is the most memorable for me, and people still remember that spell. It is very special for me) Amir concluded.
Amir was recalling his 2017 Champions Trophy final heroics, when his 3 for 16 broke India's top order and set up a famous win.
Nevertheless, with four straight wins in the competition, Quetta now sits at the top of the table with 8 points as they are set to play their next fixture against Aspin Stallions on November 23.
