Following the T20 World Cup triumph, the unexpected retirement of Virat Kohli from the T20I format sent shockwaves through the cricketing world. Since then, there has been widespread discussion revolving around 'Who Will Replace Virat Kohli?'

Amidst the discussions on Virat Kohli's replacement, two names have emerged as potential successors: Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Shedding his opinions on the entire debacle, former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa jumped on the wagon by vouching for both Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad to play together. 


Robin Uthappa Feels Both Gill-Gaikwad Should Play Together

“Why can’t we have both of them because they’re just good players. Their numbers speak for itself, both have phenomenal numbers in T20 cricket. You can’t pick between the two. If we look at consistency, you will see that Ruturaj is a little more consistent as far as numbers are concerned. But Shubman Gill gives you the versatility of having touch and power as well,” said on Sony Sports Network.

“It’s hard to pick between the two of them, ideally you would like to have both of them to play and why shouldn’t India have both of them play is what I’m asking because both of them are all format players,” Uthappa added.

While Gill is currently India's vice-captain during the Sri Lanka tour, Ruturaj Gaikwad was not picked for the series. Both players have tremendous stats. However, Gaikwad's exclusion has ignited a firestorm of discussions across social media platforms.
