Bangladesh has been confirmed as the host for the next ICC Annual General Meeting. The event will take place in Dhaka, and there is speculations going around that the ICC Elections will also take place during the same period.

Jay Shah to be the next ICC Chairman?

Greg Barclay is the current Chairman of ICC. He was elected in November 2022, and now his term is set to expire. It is also rumoured that Jay Shah is likely to stand up for the Chairman post, and if he puts his name forward, the current BCCI secretary will be elected unanimously.

BCB President, Nazmul Hasan confirmed about the venue for the next ICC meeting, and also stated that it is likely that the election will also take place at the same time.

"It has been confirmed that the next ICC board meeting will be in Dhaka. Possibly the election [ICC] would take place here," Nazmul told reporters during an impromptu press conference at the secretariat on Sunday.

He further added: "I think there will be an election (in the ICC) as the current chairman will have the last board meeting. We are expected to give our election mandate by this time."

The current tensed situation in Bangladesh has been monitored by ICC. The nation is going through a tough period, where the government had to impose an emergency following the public protest on the streets.

Bangladesh will host the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup, and Nazmul has assured ICC that the current activities in Bangladesh won't affect the World Cup schedule and everything will go ahead according to the plan.
