In a hilarious social media banter, RCB finisher Dinesh Karthik requested CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for role clarity in response to the latter’s attempt to recruit the Chennai lad to CSK for the upcoming IPL season.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to clash with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a virtual knockout contest tomorrow at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both teams’ playoff qualifications are at stake, and hence, the matchup has garnered much hype already.

However, off-the-field, RCB and CSK cricketers are enjoying their time with Dinesh Karthik and Ruturaj Gaikwad engaged in a friendly social media banter.

RCB veteran finisher Dinesh Karthik hosted a Q&A session on his Instagram to interact with the fans and unwind ahead of the big clash. However, CSK captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad gate crashed DK’s fan interaction session with a quirky message.

Gaikwad asked Karthik if his next destination in the IPL could be CSK. And interestingly, DK didn’t dismiss the idea straightaway. Instead, he requested role clarity from the CSK captain so that he could consider his proposal.

Chennai is Dinesh Karthik’s home turf, and with speculations that MS Dhoni will be inching closer towards retirement, a wicket-keeping slot could open up for DK.

While the social media interaction between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Dinesh Karthik was deemed humorous banter, it perhaps could lead to something substantial in the upcoming IPL auctions.

Regardless, RCB and CSK’s focus currently remains on the ongoing season with a big virtual knockout on the cards.

Both sides will likely have to face unfavourable weather conditions to make a game out of it, especially RCB, as a washout will kick them out of the tournament.
