PSL 10 Playoff Venue Shifts Abroad; England Bound For Final Showdown

The season 10 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to make history for several reasons. Firstly, it marks the final season with 6 teams in the league, as from 2026 onwards, PSL will expand to include 8 teams.

Additionally, the playoffs and final of PSL are scheduled to take place in England. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the owners of PSL teams have ultimately come to a decision.

The PSL franchises requested the PCB to address the financial losses that would arise from relocating the playoffs to another country. It is apparent that the PSL teams are likely to face financial setbacks if the playoffs and finals are not held in Pakistan.

The PCB is expected to propose a plan to compensate for the losses incurred by the franchises.

PSL to clash with IPL?

According to reports, certain franchises had requested a rescheduling of the time frame for the PSL. Previously, the franchises had agreed not to overlap with the IPL schedule.

However, recent reports suggest that PSL 2025 may adopt a different time frame, which could potentially overlap with the IPL.

PSL is also considering the addition of new venues, with Peshawar and Quetta emerging as potential candidates for inclusion in the PSL.

Two weeks ago, Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, advocated for Peshawar to be included as a new venue in the league.
