A recent video of Rohit Sharma praising the former Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has been doing the rounds on the internet. In that video, Rohit mentioned that Saha could pick the toughest bowlers from behind the stumps, like Ravichandran Ashwin, who had many variations in his armoury. The former Indian spinner has now reacted to this video.
Rohit Sharma and Saha were in the gym together, and the former Indian skipper recalled their playing days with other gym members listening to their stories. Rohit said that India has not seen a keeper like Saha. He added that he could pick the deliveries that sometimes the bowler himself didn’t know.
“Aisa keeper India ne aaj tak kabhi nahi dekha; India ka sabse best keeper hai. India me ball itna spin hota hai, low rehta hai, usme keeping karna, focus karte rehna, aur ek Jadeja bowler hai jo tez daalta hai, Ashwin hai jo itna skilful hai: upar se daalta hai, carrom ball dalta hai, kaunsa ball daalta hai usko bhi nahi malum hai. Sab ball Saha ne pakdi hai,” he said.
Reacting to this video, Ashwin hilariously tweeted that even he didn’t know what he was bowling. He even praised Saha for his great keeping.
"Rohit being Rohit! Aaj tak mujhe bhee nahin pata ki maine kaunsee gendh phenkee. Jokes apart! What a keeper Saha was,” Ashwin wrote.
Ashwin predicts IPL 2026 top 4
Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has predicted his top 4 teams for IPL 2026 after the mini auction concluded. In a surprising turn of events, Ashwin did not name his former team and 5-time IPL champions, CSK, in his predicted top 4 teams.
He picked RCB, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals as the 4 semi-finalists for the gigantic tournament. Ashwin's association with CSK ended on a rather sour note as he opted out of the team even before announcing the retention list for the tournament.
R Ashwin pulls out of the BBL
Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin was all set to make his Big Bash League (BBL) debut with the Sydney Thunder for the 2025-26 season, but a knee injury that he sustained during a training session forced him to withdraw from the tournament.
His retirement from international cricket and IPL opened many doors for him to play leagues around the world. And he was set to become the first Indian to play in the BBL. However, despite his injury, he could still return to the team in the latter part of the season.
