India's star spinner Kuldeep Yadav is on cloud nine as he was Men in Blue's premier spin option ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal.

Yadav repaid the faith shown in him by Rohit Sharma as he took 10 wickets in the recently concluded edition and was one of the key contributors behind India's triumph in the World Cup.

Upon returning to India, Kuldeep was welcomed with fireworks and dhols in Kanpur, while he was also felicitated by UP CM Yogi Adityanath

In the latest events, Kuldeep heaped massive praise on his skipper and remarked him as his elder brother. The left-arm chinaman stated that when he was struggling, it was Rohit who kept his belief in him and suggested him few changes in his bowling which did wonders for him.

"He has always been very supportive and has a strong belief in my skills. There was a time when I did not have confidence in my own skills. He kept talking about the changes I need to make in my bowling way back in 2019. Rohit bhai felt if I can tweak a few areas in my bowling, I can be more difficult for the batters.

In one of the media interactions, the 29-year-old also dedicated the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy to Rohit Sharma.

When I came back from my injury, he constantly told me to make a few changes, which I did. He is like an elder brother to me and loves me a lot. He is a very straightforward guy and tells me what he wants from me. He had a specific plan for me and that was to get wickets in the middle overs. He wanted to use me as an attacking spinner."

Kuldeep was not a part of India's playing XI in the group stage, as the surface in USA favoured the seamers. But as soon as the West Indies' leg started, Rohit brought in Yadav into the side and he delivered right from his first ball.
