The IPL 2025 season is not just about exciting matches, it's also giving fans some hilarious moments off the field. One such funny moment came when former Indian cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Rayudu shared the screen during live commentary.

Rayudu, a former Indian cricketer, stepped into the IPL 2025 commentary panel alongside Dhawan and many other former stars of the sport. During a recent clash, the duo were involved in a hilarious verbal battle that left the fans in splits.

Dhawan and Rayudu reminisced about their U19 days where the latter interestingly got banned before a big match.

Why Shikhar Dhawan Blamed Ambati Rayudu For U19 World Cup Debacle?

Both players have a long history together, going back to the 2004 U19 World Cup, where Ambani Rayudu was the captain and Shikhar Dhawan was part of the squad.

During a fun chat with Aakash Chopra on Star Sports, Dhawan revealed a hilarious and lesser-known story about Rayudu. He recalled how Rayudu got banned just before the semi-final match against Pakistan due to a Code of Conduct violation, which eventually cost India the game.

“Ambati Rayudu ka bahut bada naam tha U19 mai. Humare captain the U19 World Cup mei aur waha pe bhi ban hogaye the, humara semi-final mar gaya," Dhawan said.

The joke left Chopra in splits, and even though Rayudu looked a bit annoyed at first, he eventually joined in the laughter.

Rayudu has had his fair share of ups and downs, from a BCCI ban during the ICL days to missing out on the 2019 World Cup, which even led to Iceland Cricket jokingly offering him a spot in their team.

Rayudu Opens Up On 2019 World Cup Snub

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has finally broken his silence on one of the most controversial selection decisions in Indian cricket, his exclusion from the 2019 ICC World Cup squad.

Speaking during a podcast, Rayudu made it clear that he doesn’t blame Virat Kohli, the then-captain, for the snub. He further explained that he sees the decision as a collective call by the team management, including then-head coach Ravi Shastri and chief selector MSK Prasad.
