The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the annual central contract list for the 2024-25 season. As many as 34 Indian cricketers were roped in by the board, including 19 players in the C category.

While several Indian players were retained by the BCCI, some fresh faces also managed to sneak into the lucrative line-up. Here, we take a look at all the Indian players who were inducted into BCCI’s central contract list for the very first time.

Quite a number of Indian players managed to find a way inside BCCI’s central contract list for the very first time through the board’s latest plan for the period between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025.

Notably, each first-timer has been enrolled into the ‘C’ category by the BCCI, in which players can earn Rs. 1 crore each. Here is a look at the list of all players who made their central contract debuts this season.

Abhishek Sharma made his international debut back in July 2024 during a T20I series in Zimbabwe. Earlier this year, he bludgeoned a match-winning 135 against England at the Wankhede Stadium.

Harshit Rana, who played his first international match last November in Perth, went on to make his debut across all formats over the course of the next two months. He was also a part of the Indian team that lifted the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE this March.

Batting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy hit a splendid ton in his debut Test series in Australia late last year. Having played his first international in October 2024, Reddy has already featured in five Tests and four T20Is for the Indian team.

Varun Chakaravarthy, in his second coming to the Indian team, played a key role in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, picking up nine wickets in just three innings at an average of 15.11.
