Ambati Rayudu Defends His MS Dhoni Comments
Recently, during CSK’s match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on 8 April, Rayudu made a comment while doing Hindi commentary. He compared Dhoni to a warrior with a sword, showing his respect and admiration. But some fans thought he went too far and started trolling him online.
Rayudu reacted to this criticism by posting on X (formerly Twitter):
“I was a Thala fan. I am a Thala fan. I will always be a Thala fan. No matter what anyone says or does, it won’t make even 1% difference. So stop wasting money on paid PR and donate it to charity. It’ll help poor people.”
During that match, Rayudu was doing commentary with Navjot Singh Sidhu, who later questioned Rayudu’s dramatic style. When Dhoni came out to bat, Rayudu excitedly said:
“It looks like Dhoni is coming with a sword… and today his sword will definitely strike.”
Sidhu responded later by posting a clip and writing:
“Is Dhoni here to play cricket or fight a war?”

Dhoni did try his best, scoring 27 runs from 12 balls, including one four and three sixes, but CSK still lost the match by 18 runs. He got out on the very first ball of the last over, which almost sealed the win for Punjab Kings.
Currently, CSK is having a tough time, as they are now in 9th position on the points table with 1 win and 4 losses.
