Pakistan's legendary pacer, Waqar Younis, believes that India will be under pressure when the two arch-rivals face off in the much-anticipated India vs. Pakistan match during the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India and Pakistan met twice in the latest edition of the Asia Cup 2023. The first match was abandoned due to rain after India's innings, while the second contest saw Rohit Sharma and his team secure a convincing 228-run victory over Pakistan.

Speaking exclusively on One Cricket’s LOC 3.0, Waqar Younis conceded that the Men in Blue, playing in Ahmedabad in front of their home fans, would likely experience more pressure than the Pakistan team.

Here’s what Waqar Younis told One Cricket:

“There is a different pressure when it comes to an India versus Pakistan match. This time, the pressure will be more on India as they play in front of their home crowd.”

Furthermore, Waqar Younis mentioned that Pakistan, too, will feel the pressure, but their recent emphatic win against Sri Lanka has boosted their confidence for this match. The legendary pacer added:

“Pakistan will also experience pressure, but after their victory against Sri Lanka, they must be high on confidence. I expect this to be an exciting contest.”

Notably, Pakistan registered a six-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in their most recent match. The standout players in this match were Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan, both of whom notched up breathtaking centuries and were instrumental in Pakistan's successful run-chase.
