Pakistan Shaheens overcame Bangladesh scare in a nervy Super Over finish in the final to lift the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars title. After both teams were found deadlocked at 125 apiece at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha, young Pakistan all-rounders Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat notched up the winning runs together for their side.

Sadaqat later won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award for his exceptional all-round spectacle throughout the competition. After the thrilling grand finale, the 20-year-old credited Pakistan Shaheens’ collective grit for earning the hard-fought trophy.

Maaz Sadaqat steals the spotlight after Pakistan’s Asia Cup win

Maaz Sadaqat was adjudged the ‘Player of the Tournament’ of the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars in Doha for his exceptional all-round run throughout the competition. After the match, the 20-year-old hailed trust and teamwork for Pakistan Shaheens’ recent successes.

While speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Maaz Sadaqat said:

“I feel very good. My plan was to win the Trophy and we did that. The captain trusted me to bowl. The coach also gave us plans and we applied it. I had already said that we were trying to look inwards and reduce our mistakes. I want to thank all the fans.”

Maaz Sadaqat himself scored a fiery 23 at the top on a challenging surface in the final, before picking up a wicket in his tight two-over spell to claim figures of 1-7.

Overall, the uncapped Pakistan star finished the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars as its highest run-getter with 258 runs at an average of 129 and a strike rate of 177.93. He started off his campaign with successive match-winning unbeaten fifties against Oman and India A.

Moreover, Maaz Sadaqat also harvested seven wickets in just four innings at an average of 7.42 to cap a remarkable all-round tournament.
