'He Is Hiding Behind Them': PAK Batter Blasts On Babar Azam Amid Selection Debacle

The Men in Green have not had a memorable run in the days leading up to the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Although they managed to seal a victory against Ireland after losing the first game, they failed to continue their winning momentum during their 4-match series against England. 

While the series was marred by rain thereby washing out two games, England managed to defeat the visitors without letting Pakistan even open their account. This has left to alot of questions being directed towards the reinstated skipper, Babar Azam, especially now that  Ahmed Shehzad has accused him of hiding behind the selection committee.

During a discussion on GeoNews, Ahmed Shehzad said:

"Babar Azam is hiding behind seven selectors."

After Pakistan's loss to England, Azam Khan's selection has been heavily criticised in the media by former players and experts for his lack of fitness that has led to his poor form. Azam, who is the son of former Pakistan captain Moin Khan, has failed to performance when his team needed it the most.

Despite this, Babar Azam continues to back him and has urged fans to support the team. As a result of which he has been accused of influencing selection of the players on the basis of friendship.

Shifting the focus to the upcoming world cup, Pakistan will begin their campaign against USA on June 6.
