Pakistan's ace batter Babar Azam had a forgettable time in the ODI Tri-Series at home, as he recorded three consecutive low scores. After being dismissed for ten runs in the first match against New Zealand, Babar couldn't convert his starts into impactful knocks in the subsequent affairs, managing only 52 runs at an average of 26.

Basit Ali Blames Pakistan Management For Babar Azam's Failure

Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has directly blamed Pakistan management for Babar Azam's underwhelming performance in the Tri-Series. It's worth mentioning that Babar has enjoyed stellar success as a number three batter in ODIs.

In fact, he was impressive in that position in the recently concluded South Africa series, which Pakistan won by a comprehensive three-nil margin. Therefore, Basit criticised Pakistan's move to promote Babar Azam

"Who is the one who told Babar Azam to open? I am surprised who he is. What crazy people they are [Kaise pagal log hai]. He was performing well at number three, scoring 50-70 against South Africa, but they stopped that too. Now, just 62 runs in three matches in the tri-series. This is the approach, this is the thinking," Basit Ali was quoted as saying by TOI.
