The Pakistan Cricket Board dropped its 58th PCB Podcast for it's fans which was hosted by former cricketer Salman Butt. The latest episode featured mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and all-rounder Salman Ali Agha, who shared some candid stories from their cricketing journeys.

Salman Ali Agha And Abrar Ahmed Opened Up On PCB Podcast

From early struggles to the high of representing Pakistan on the big stage, both players gave fans a peek behind the curtain. The duo, fresh from the Tri-Series loss against New Zealand, spoke about their recent performances and their hopes for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Pakistan’s campaign begins on 19 February in Karachi against New Zealand and both Abrar and Agha will be looking to bring their A-game.

Agha’s Red-Hot Form

If there’s one player who’s been on fire lately, it’s Salman Ali Agha. The all-rounder was in sensational form during the Tri-Series, smashing 219 runs in 3 matches at a stunning average of 73.00. He anchored innings, played aggressive strokes and looked like the glue holding Pakistan’s middle order together.

In the podcast, Agha opened up about his rise in international cricket, his role as Pakistan's vice-captain and how Pakistan has pulled off some memorable ODI series wins in Australia and South Africa. Confident but humble, Agha seemed ready to take on the Champions Trophy challenge with full steam ahead.

For Abrar Ahmed, the journey to the top was a tough ride. Known for his unique bowling style and ability to bamboozle batters, the mystery spinner opened up on his grassroots beginnings and how domestic cricket helped him hone his skills.

Although Abrar had a mediocre outing in the Tri-Series, picking up just three wickets in three matches, he’s excited about featuring in his first ICC event.

Lessons From The Tri-Series

The Tri-Series final loss to New Zealand was a reality check for Pakistan. Despite Agha’s brilliance, the team fell short with Abrar unable to weave his magic.

With the Champions Trophy 2025 on the horizon, Agha and Abrar will play key roles in Pakistan’s campaign. Agha will aim to keep his red-hot form going whereas Abrar will look to make the ball talk and rattle the opponent.
