Who Are The Challenging Batters For Chahal?
After making his debut in the IPL arena in 2013, Chahal has thrived with his spin magic and fans witnessed some unmissable encounters between the leg-spinner and the opponent batters. As the new IPL season is commencing soon, Chahal is ready for his new sting with Punjab Kings as the franchise bought him for 18 crore. Before that, Chahal reflected on his illustrious career and revealed the two most challenging batters he has ever encountered.
“Heinrich Klaasen is one, Nicholas Pooran another. They have so much power that sometimes even the edges go for sixes. They are the ones who are challenging. I have gone for sixes against them and done well against them too.” Chahal said.
Chahal Isn’t Bothered By Big Names
After stepping into the IPL arena, Yuzvendra Chahal became a formidable force in the game. While representing Rajasthan Royals, he was the purple cap winner of IPL 2022 with a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul. However, the skilled leg-spinner shared that he ignores the stature of opposing batters to stay away from unnecessary pressure.
“But, when I bowl, I don’t look at the name. When you look at their reputation, it will create pressure on you. I have the ball, they have the bat. I have to win the battle. I am not 6’5" or very broad. Mera sab kuch mind pe hai (My mind is everything for me). I always focus on that.” Chahal said.
As the IPL 2025 is commencing on March 22, Punjab Kings is all set to face Gujarat Giants in their augural clash on March 25. Ahead of the tournament, the franchise named a robust squad, and Chahal’s presence in the bowling unit is a massive boost for the side. Under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership, the franchise will be eyeing their maiden IPL trophy.
