The Indian wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been acquired for INR 18 Cr by the Punjab Kingh . They will be looking ahead towards the performance of Chahal as one of their premier spinners and a member of the leadership core in the bowling attack.

Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal has previously been a part of three IPL teams. From IPL 2011 to 2013, Chahal was a part of the Mumbai Indians. After this, he joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru before IPL 2014 and served the franchise till IPL 2021. In the auction ahead of IPL 2022, the Rajasthan Royals bought Chahal for a price of INR 6.50 Cr. However, they released the leg spinner before the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Bidding War For Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal's bidding was opened by the Gujarat Titans. The Chennai Super Kings came into the war. Soon, the Punjab Kings also joined the war, followed by the Lucknow Super Giants. The old team of Chahal, RCB entered the fray when the bid was INR 14 Cr.

Soon, the Sunrisers Hyderabad also joined the bidding war. However ultimately, the Punjab Kings bought them for INR 18Cr.

Yuzvendra Chahal IPL Career And Stats

Yuzvendra Chahal has played 160 matches in the Indian Premier League. In this matches he has picked up 205 wickets, which is the highest by any bowlers in the league's history, with an economy of 7.84 and a bowling average of 22.45. The Indian leg spinner has also won the Purple Cap (Highest Wicket Taker) for IPL 2022.
