In a chase of 204, Mumbai Indians lost two wickets early, but Raj Bawa was not sent to bat even then. Suryakumar Yadav walked out at his traditional number four.

In the tournament, Bawa scored 252 runs at an average of 63 and also picked up five wickets in the summit clash. In fact, he is the only Indian to have a five-wicket haul in the final of an ICC event.
