The third and final ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan is all set to go down at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Saturday, April 5. The match kicks off at 3:30 AM IST and while the series is already in the bag for the Kiwis, Pakistan will aim to salvage their pride.

The BlackCaps have steamrolled Pakistan so far. First, a 73-run win in the opening game followed by an 84-run thumping in the second. They have called the shots, dictated the tempo and looked the better team in every department.

As for Pakistan, it has been a horror show. Their top-order has been dismal, the middle order hasn’t risen to the occasion and the bowlers haven’t been able to apply any pressure. Mohammad Rizwan’s men will be hoping to avoid a whitewash.

As far as NZ vs PAK Dream11 teams are concerned, picking the right captain or vice-captain is half the battle won. So here are three players who can swing it your way in the NZ vs PAK 3rd ODI.

3. Babar Azam

Why Will Babar Azam Be A Good Choice As The Captain Or Vice-captain In NZ vs PAK?

Babar Azam may have failed in the last match, falling for just 1 but you cannot write him off. When the pressure is off and the result doesn’t matter, Babar has a habit of piling on runs. His classy 78 in the first ODI showed just how dangerous he can be when he gets going.

In dead rubbers, Babar tends to come out of his shell and play with a sense of freedom. Pakistan's batting has been in shambles and if there is one man who can hold the innings together, it is him. If you’re playing safe, Babar as your captain or vice-captain is a smart move as he brings consistency and potential in equal measure.

2. Daryl Mitchell

Why Will Daryl Mitchell Be A Good Choice As The Captain Or Vice-captain In NZ vs PAK?

Daryl Mitchell has made a habit of making life miserable for Pakistan’s bowlers. He started the series with a fluent 76 and even though he didn’t fire in the second ODI, he remains one of the most dependable Kiwi batters in this lineup.

What makes Mitchell a great fantasy pick is that he bats in the top four, can occasionally chip in with the ball and more importantly, plays spin with confidence. With 94 runs in two games this series at an average of 47.00, he is always in the game when it comes to racking up points which makes him an ideal captain or vice-captain pick.

1. Jacob Duffy

Why Will Jacob Duffy Be A Good Choice As The Captain Or Vice-captain In NZ vs PAK?

Jacob Duffy has been a revelation for New Zealand in this white-ball series and if you have been playing fantasy cricket throughout the NZ-PAK tour, you already know he has been the real deal. After finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the T20I series, Duffy has carried his red-hot form into the ODIs, picking up 5 wickets in the first two games.

He is sharp with the new ball, gets movement early and has a knack for dismissing key batters. If you want a reliable wicket-taker who can deliver big points even in a low-scoring match, Jacob Duffy should be at the top of your captain or vice-captain shortlist.
