The year 2025 has brought mixed fortunes for the Pakistan side in T20Is. The team had a new leader in Salman Ali Agha, and a new-look squad was picked, and a longer rope was given to the players selected. The Men in Green had a heartbreaking moment as they lost to India thrice in the Asia Cup 2025, including the finals.
However, barring that embarrassment, the side captured two different tri-series tournaments and won 21 out of 34 matches in the game’s shortest format in 2025. The playing combination has settled in properly and the team is almost ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup next year.

"As a team, we want to win the 2026 and 2027 World Cups. That’s my dream," he further added.
What is Pakistan's combination for T20 World Cup 2026
Pakistan has a settled team for the World Cup with Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, and Babar Azam leading the batting lineup at the top. Interestingly, Fakhar Zaman, who is a designated opener, was slotted in the middle-order for the tri-series and will bat at the same position in the World Cup.
He will be surrounded by a plethora of all-rounders, including Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf. Abrar Ahmed will lead the spin department, and Shaheen Afridi, whose workload has been carefully managed, will be the leader of the pace attack in the T20 World Cup, alongside Haris Rauf, who has been going through a rough patch.
