After electing to bat first against India women in the Women's Asia Cup 2024 clash, the Pakistan team got bundled out for 108 in Dambulla on Friday. India's ace spinner Deepti Sharma took three wickets, whereas Shreyanka Patil, Pooja Vastrakar, and Renuka Singh took two wickets apiece.

Deepti Sharma, who came as the first change bowler, took three wickets - including scalps of Pakistan captain Nida Dar, Tuba Hassan and Nashra Sandhu - in her full quota of four overs where he gave away just 20 runs.

Meanwhile, Renuka Singh Thakur (2/14), Shreyanka Patil (2/14) and Pooja Vastrakar (2/31) contributed brilliantly to India's cause.

The Pakistan unit could have got wrapped up inside 100 runs, if not for Tuba Hassan (22 off 19) and Fatima Sana (21* off 16), who shared a timely partnership of 31 runs.

Nevertheless, Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma have given a strong start to the Indian response. At the time of writing, the Women in Blue have reached to 27/0 inside 4 overs.
