After becoming the most expensive player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, LSG's (Lucknow Super Giants) skipper Rishabh Pant has tanked in the ongoing tournament. The left-handed batter has only been able to manage 19 runs in four matches so far.

Shahbaz Ahmed Backs Rishabh Pant To Come Good

The star Indian wicket-keeping batter, Rishabh Pant who has done wonders in Test cricket, especially, has done well in the IPL too in the past. However, this season has been disappointing for the LSG skipper, who has had a dismal campaign so far, with poor results coming from his bat despite Lucknow's topsy-turvy campaign so far.

Pant's teammate, Shahbaz Ahmed, during the press conference, spoke about Rishabh's mood and how he has been managing himself despite not having the best of times with the bat.

Speaking during the press conference, Shahbaz described that Pant is not taking it too lightly, nor is he taking it too seriously, as he's keeping himself focused and working extremely hard in the nets to ensure that he comes good with the bat in the upcoming games.

"There is no change in his mood. As always, he is chilled and relaxed. He is working very hard on his batting, and we believe that when crunch time comes, Rishabh Pant will score runs and win matches for us."

LSG To Next Face Kolkata Knight Riders

After two wins and as many defeats in four games, the Lucknow Super Giants side will next charge out against the Kolkata Knight Riders side on the 8th of April in an afternoon game at the iconic Eden Gardens.

Talking about the pitch in the conference, Shahbaz described it to be a slower one, which he expects considering the fact that they have top-notch spinners in the form of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy.

"This wicket looks slower. I don't think it will turn much, but the ball may stop a bit. It's not surprising they've prepared a spin-friendly wicket with Narine and Varun in their side."

If LSG have to do well, the bat of Rishabh Pant needs to do the talking, as currently, he has only 19 runs in four games at an average of 4.75, while striking at a poor 59.37.

With Pant at the helm of things, it will be interesting to see how LSG go about their campaign in the upcoming matches, with contests only getting tighter.
