After the first day of the ongoing Gabba Test, India and Australia are back on day 2 with some intense cricket actions. After giving some early troubles to the host, Team India faced backfires. Steve Smith and Travis Head’s centuries added more trouble on the visitors. After watching Team India’s display on day 2, Harbhajan Singh took a sly dig at Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.
After facing a humiliating 10-wicket defeat in the Adelaide Test, Team India aims to bounce back in the ongoing Test match. As India tries several spinners in the ongoing series, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh mockingly said that the Indian skipper may try him in the next Test.
Harbhajan Singh’s Dig On Rohit Sharma’s Captaincy
For the first time since the historic Gabba win, Team India is facing the Australian side in the same venue. Along with relying on the pacers, Rohit Sharma’s Team India side has also been experimenting with spin options. After trying out Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin in the previous Tests, Rohit Sharma opted for Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing Test match.
During the commentary, sports presenter Jatin Sapru analyzed Team India’s diverse spin options in the ongoing series. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh couldn’t resist throwing a cheeky dig at Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, adding a dash of spice in the discussion.
“In the first Test, it was Washington Sundar, in the second one Ashwin, India has given different spinners to all Tests,” Sapru said.
“Next up is Harbhajan Singh in Melbourne.” Harbhajan Singh interrupted.
Team India Is In Trouble
After facing three early blows, the Australian side came back remarkably. Steve Smith and Travis Head’s centuries gave a huge boost to host’s innings. Head continued troubling India and Smith scored his 33rd Test hundred against his favourite opponent.
Even in the crucial moment, Team India’s ‘crisis man’ Jasprit Bumrah came to rescue the side with an excellent five-wicket haul. Nitish Kumar Reddy secured one wicket. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep are still struggling for a breakthrough. In the 101th over, Australia passed the 400-run mark.
