The Netherlands stunned the cricketing world, beating in-form South Africa last evening at Dharamsala in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Led by Scott Edwards, who top-scored for the Dutch side, and all-round bowling and fielding effort, restricted South Africa to 207 in pursuit of 246 in a rain-curtailed encounter.

This is a repeat of a similar result in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, where the Netherlands beat South Africa and knocked them out of the top 4.

The Temba Bavuma-captained side headed into the clash and beat Australia and Sri Lanka earlier in the tournament, respectively.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, former India opener Aakash Chopra in his match analysis, stated how the Dutch side is beyond Proteas' reach.

Here's what Chopra said

"They can beat Australia but the Netherlands are beyond South Africa's grasp. Another upset has happened. Matches are happening one-sided but when beautiful upsets happen, the heart finds solace. The Netherlands have won and South Africa have lost."

The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player went on to praise Edwards, Roelof van der Merwe and Aryan Dutt's batting performance that stole the limelight. Chopra identified the constant loss of wickets in quick succession as the main reason behind South Africa's loss.

The Dutch play Sri Lanka on October 21, while South Africa lock horns against England on the same day in Mumbai.
