Indian skipper Rohit Sharma might be enjoying an excellent time on the field, both as a batter and a leader in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, but has landed himself in minor trouble off it.

As reported by ZeeNews, the 36-year-old has been issued as many as three traffic challans for over-speeding during his journey from Mumbai to Pune.

Sharma opted to travel to Mumbai after India's Ahmedabad encounter against Pakistan via helicopter and then regrouped with the team on Tuesday in Pune, having spent two days with family.

Sharma drove his famous Lamborghini Urus on the Mumbai-Pune Express, with traffic authorities stating that the opener surpassed speeds of 200 and 215 km/hour, resulting in the issuing of three online traffic challans on his registered number plate.

The report further stated that a traffic official expressed his surprise over Sharma driving during the World Cup.

Here is what the traffic personnel said

"The Indian captain, right in the middle of the World Cup, driving down on a highway is not advisable at all. He should be travelling in the team bus with a police car escorting it."

Sharma in this World Cup has displayed stellar form, scoring 217 runs from three matches, which strangely includes one century, one fifty, and one duck.

With three wins under their belt, India will lock horns against Bangladesh tomorrow at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
